Condolences

Condolence From: Stephen McMahan
Condolence: Often times it is unfortunate that we never get a chance to truly talk of an impact someone had on our life until after they are gone. Growing up at Kerlee Baptist, Dennis was always kind to me and constantly an encouragement in singing. When it came time for choir, if I ever hesitated going up front, he'd stand next to my pew with a certain look on his face until I got up and went up there with him. My favorite memory, however, was how when I was about 5 or 6 years old he would hold me up in the back row so that I could see the choir director and "be heard by the people out there." Always had a smile or a joke to tell me. Always respected me and I never felt talked down to by him, no matter how young I was. His kindness towards me extended outside of the church walls and into the community when I would see him at Denny's (teased him about living there) or wherever. This kindness continued well into adulthood as well. I remember one day after years since I last saw him, looking over and seeing Brenda and him sitting there, and Brenda nudging him in the side to get his attention (as he was talking to someone in a booth over from him) and then watching his face light up with that million dollar smile! Followed with a big "how are you?!" When I heard the news of his passing, I was very sad, as if I heard I had lost a close relative...in a way I did. To Brenda and the rest of the family, I'm thinking about you all and praying for you. I am at work in Boone right now and is killing me I can't make it down today. Please know that I would be there to support you if I could.

Condolence: Brenda, We are so very sorry to hear of the passing of "cousin" Dennis. Our hearts break for you and prayers are certainly with you. He was loved by so many and will be missed so much. Everyone that came in contact with him became a better person and his love for the Lord was evident. He is rejoicing with our Father now and would not want us to mourn his going home. We are here if we can be of help to you.

Condolence: Brenda and Family, I was so saddened to hear of Dennis's passing. Saddened for everyone left here without him but joyous for Dennis being with his Lord. I know this is a very hard time for all of you but one day may all the wonderful memories replace the grief you are feeling. We enjoyed our time with you both. The New Years we rang in together, the laughter, dancing but most of all our talks of the Lord. I am thankful we all shared that love. Keeping you in our Prayers.

Condolence: Brenda and family, Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this very difficult time. Dennis brought so much joy to those around him. We will miss his smile and zest for life. He will be remembered for his dedication to spreading the gospel to whomever he came into contact with. Music on Main will never be the same without him. The comfort is in knowing that Dennis is with His Lord and we will see him again. May God give you His peace in the days ahead.
